Nat moved to Lakeview, Illinois, to live with her grandmother after her parents were killed suddenly in a car accident. She is an only child. When she was younger, she took a great interest in wildlife.
Nat has light skin; her hair is cut just above her shoulders and is slight curly. She has brown hair and blue eyes. Standard attire: ratty t-shirts, skinny jeans, sneakers.

Talitha has existed since the world was first spoken into creation. She has watched civilizations rise from the dust and crumble into the sea. She has seen humans fuck and fight and love and murder. She has been, she is, she will be.
She's still not entirely certain how pronouns work in English. Genders escape her from time to time.
Talitha is a six-winged hundred-eyed monstrous being of light and fire and song, but in order to keep from breaking the humans she is currently walking the earth as a teenage Arab girl with light brown hair and short black hair with frosted tips. She dresses like she crawled out of a dumpster in the 1990s, and is never seen without her jean jacket.

Sam is Nat's childhood friend. He and Nat grew up together in Lost Mountain, Illinois, which he's always thought sounds pretty ominous for a town where the most dangerous things around are the deer that wander into the middle of the road. After Nat's parents died, Sam's family brought her to their house and helped her and her grandmother sort out funeral arrangements.
Sam is the ray of sunshine to Nat's gloomy demeaenor. He's currently training to be a lifeguard. He's pretty bad at reading the moods of people he isn't extremely close with, but makes up for this social shortcoming by entertaining everyone with his rapid-fire storytelling and hilarious voices.

Idida is Heaven's expert on humans. She has walked the earth among them since the time of the tower of Babel; she has mastered their thousand tongues and taken a thousand faces. The humans are her mission: protect the one who must be protected, whoever it may be at the time. In the last few milennia she has become something of a supervisor for other seraphim who guard the humans, keeping out a watchful eye for wayward angels who need course correcting.
